Xun ☴: yin below two yang lines; wind and wood
Xun is the trigram ☴. From bottom to top its lines are yin, yang, yang. The bottom line is broken, and the upper two are solid. Its traditional images include wind and wood, and its quality is often described as entering or penetrating.
In the usual Later Heaven arrangement, Xun is southeast. In the Earlier Heaven system transmitted by Shao Yong in the Song dynasty, it is southwest. “Xun as wind” and “Xun as wood” are different aspects of the same symbolic tradition, not a contradiction. Discussion of directions or placement should identify the system being used; Xun does not have one universal direction in every context.
Introductory cultural reference, not personal fortune-telling, medical or investment advice. Symbolism expresses a wish, not a guaranteed effect.
