Zhen ☳: yang below two yin lines; the image of thunder
Zhen is the trigram ☳. From bottom to top its lines are yang, yin, yin. The solid yang line is at the bottom, with two broken yin lines above; do not read the order in reverse. Its traditional image is thunder, and its quality is often described as movement.
In the usual Later Heaven arrangement, Zhen is east. In the Earlier Heaven system transmitted by Shao Yong in the Song dynasty, it is northeast. Thunder and movement can help convey the beginning of activity. They belong to a classical symbolic system, not a prediction that a particular person must experience an upheaval.
Introductory cultural reference, not personal fortune-telling, medical or investment advice. Symbolism expresses a wish, not a guaranteed effect.
